I got into skating firstly through seeing some kids tv programme about skating, it was a few old pros doing hand plants and stuff at livi, well I think it was livi, it was a long time ago,and secondly it was the Wigan comp that was on tv back in 89 that got me really hooked, seeing pete dossett skate the old vert ramp (r.i.p) stoked me out, Bill Danforth did the commentary for it, my friend met him, but sadly I did not.

I used to skate with four other friends, Carl Kearney, Mark Ramsbottom ,Spencer Brockley and David Whitfield, we mainly skated around Hindley Green on the Ingersol Rand industrial park, but we did venture elsewhere (when my mk 2 escort was running), like Warrington for the red hand rails ""go on Carl, do the big one"" haha, and Woolston high school for the red brick banks, we also liked to skate the water place in Bolton too. Alan Woods used to do these skate sessions at Mornigton Road High school, in the gym, they consisted of a few fly off's, ledges and grindy things, those sessions really rocked, the likes of Geoff Rowley came along a few times, seeing
that guy skate, even back then as a kid was pretty cool In 1991 we all went down to Newquay for a week of skating lovelyness, we got to skate a few places like the old 70's skatepark at Hollywell Bay, and the vert ramp and mini at Perranporth and a vert in a farmers barn in Crantock plus others. That holiday brings me my fondest memorys of my skating history, we all had a great laugh, skating as well as taking the piss out of the locals, as 17yr olds do ""OH we hate BARRY"" haha.
After leaving school I really got into skating proper, I was never really any good, I just enjoyed it, which is the main reason for skating in my eyes. Me and my friends were stoked on Hensley and the "blind video days" video, but so was everyone else then.

In 1993 we all packed in skating, with the exception of my mate Carl, we all got the taste for beer and women, haha. In october 2001 I got the urge to skate again, I dont know why, I just did, and im enjoying more now than I ever did, seeing some of the young kids skate, there are a few at Bolton, really stokes me, they are so good, far far better than I could ever be, skating now is more healthier than it has ever been ""which is nice"".
Anyways, I cant think of much more to say, so ill sign off...
